My name is Ed, and I LOVE travel.

This is how I introduce myself now. Ever since I became a Cruise Planners TRAVEL EXPERT, I’ve started every introduction with these 8 words and it always is a great conversation starter. I mean, who DOESN’T love to talk about travel?

Now, I have unofficially helped people plan their travel for decades. I always was scrounging the internet, looking for the best deal to get a roommate, brother, or relative the best possible rate, no matter the destination. I would get laser-focused on it, lost in time. Do you know why? It was because I was doing something that I loved to do. And when you do something you love, it’s not really work.

Imagine my surprise (or lack thereof actually, more on that later) when I found that my best friend, Paul Gamber, also was a travel junkie. He had been doing the same thing: acting as the official travel ambassador for the Gamber family, loving every minute of it. When he found out about the opportunity to join Cruise Planners, an opportunity to plan dream getaways for hundreds or thousands of people, he immediately told me about it. I, of course, was instantly on board.

A little about me: I am a licensed and active Real Estate agent in Phoenix, Arizona. I have helped people buy, sell and rent homes in the Valley of the Sun for almost six years. Prior to real estate I worked for nearly a decade as a marketer and purchaser in the hotel supply industry. That experience put me in touch with many hotel and resort managers, and it was just close enough to the travel industry for me to find some enjoyment. Recently I have been working with vacation rental investors in the Phoenix market. This has led to exploring opportunities to bridge the gap between real estate and travel and maximize my value to clients in both industries.

My P.I.C. Paul Gamber (Partner In Cruises?) and I go way back. We attended the same High School, and we quickly bonded over how much we had in common and thought alike. We would coincidentally wear the same color shirts to school, have the same pop culture interests, and we even played the same instrument in band. Sometime after college we both lost touch for a few years. When we reconnected, wouldn’t you know – we both had moved to the Southwest, and we both had married girls from Pasadena, California. Uncanny. So when Paul told me about his passion for travel, I wasn’t the least bit surprised, because just like many other things in our seemingly parallel lives, I also shared the same passion.

Paul Gamber, Stephanie Gamber, Ed Gates and Suzanne Gates, all make up the Cruise Planners Getaway Gang! We promise we will find you the BEST vacation packages available, and make your dream vacation a reality.
